Quick News Shang Chi Garfield Max Duty

Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings
Actor/comedian Ronny Chieng (“Crazy Rich Asians,”) reportedly signed on for an undisclosed role in “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” for Marvel Studios before shooting on that film was postponed. It’s not known if he got to film any of his scenes beforehand.

The project was one of the first big tentpole releases to halt production early last month and its star Simu Liu has been holed up in quarantine in Sydney ever since. Tony Chiu-Wai Leung, Awkwafina and Michelle Yeoh also star in the film while Florian Munteanu will reportedly have a minor villainous role. [Source: Discussing Film]

Allen Garfield
Actor Allen Garfield, who appeared in movies like “The Conversation,” “Nashville,” “The Cotton Club,” “Bananas” and “The Stuntman,” has died of coronavirus. He was 80. Garfield was known for playing corrupt and villainous businessmen and politicians in films and suffered from two stokes back in 1999 and 2004 respectively, the first happened whilst filming Roman Polanski’s “The Ninth Gate”. Max Reload and the Nether Blasters
MVD Entertainment Group has picked up the North American distribution rights to gaming action-adventure feature “Max Reload and the Nether Blasters” which Scott Conditt and Jeremy Tremp direct.

The plot follows a small town video game store clerk who must go from zero to hero after accidentally unleashing the forces of evil from a cursed Colecovision game. Kevin Smith, Tom Plumley, Joey Morgan, Hassie Harrison and Lukas Gage co-star. MVD will release the pic in theaters and on multiple VOD platforms this summer. [Source: Deadline]

Call of Duty: Warzone
The trailer for the third season of online combat arena game “Call of Duty: Warzone” has been released ahead of the update arriving tomorrow. The update brings new stuff to both the recent “Modern Warfare” reboot and the “Warzone” title. These include quads in Warzone and Plunder; three new 6v6 multiplayer maps, two free new weapons, and new operators, including Alex, in addition to more free content in the Battle Pass system.
